Puppy Potty Training Problems:
Sometimes if it is taking longer than usual to train a puppy you
can become disheartened, seeming like you will never get there.
However as long as you persevere; then it is perfectly possible to
train your puppy. Remember that lots of people have been in your
shoes and there is lot of help and advice available.
There are lots of issues that can cause the puppy potty training to
take longer than it should. However there are also ways and means
around this to ensure that they don’t have a detrimental effect on
your puppies training schedule.
For example not spending enough time with your puppy can slow down
the training process. However lots of us have busy lives, jobs and
schedules that we have to stick too. Your puppy will benefit from
just a few subtle changes. Can you get home in your lunch break to
let your puppy outside for a few minutes and give them a few minutes
attention? They will love this & benefit from being able to go to
the toilet.
If this is not a problem don’t be afraid of asking neighbors or
friends to help. Most people know what it is like to train a puppy
so will be happy to help if you are busy.
Remember that all of these solutions are only temporary; your puppy
won’t be a puppy for ages.
If you get home and your puppy has soiled on the carpet it can be
hard not let your first reaction to be to shout at the dog. However
remember that your dog may have done this hours ago, so they won’t
associate your yelling with the mess they have mad.
Smacking your puppy or rubbing your puppy’s nose in their mess will
not trigger good behavior instead it will make them scared of you.
If you are having problems potty training your puppy then the best
advice you can have would be to stick with it. With a proper
schedule and sticking to the same routine you will have success.
Your puppy wants to make you happy, so by showing them you are
pleased with good behavior and ignoring the bad your puppy will soon
master the trick of potty training.
